A few years ago I received an invitation to show my installation work overseas but once shipping quotes came through, they asked if I could build something on-site instead – in just one week. This residency is my response. An attempt to build an installation from reclaimed cardboard as quickly and economically as possible, reflecting on the tensions between labour, effort, and perceived value in contemporary art.
